FAQs

MasterStone Hardscapes LLC

  • How does NaturalStone™ curbing differ from common landscape edging?

Unlike traditional edging materials that can shift or become dislodged, NaturalStone™ curbing offers superior longevity and stability. Standard landscape edging often deteriorates within a few years, compromising your landscape's appearance, while our curbing maintains its integrity and visual appeal.
  • Can I buy these pieces and install them myself?

NaturalStone™ curbing isn't available for DIY installation. Unlike block work, our system is a continuous concrete landscape border that's custom-mixed and professionally installed on-site by our trained team.
  • How long does installation take?

We typically complete installations within a single day.
  • How deep in the ground do you have to dig to install?

Installation doesn't require digging. We use a sod cutter to remove the existing sod, then install your NaturalStone™ curbing on a properly compacted and leveled surface.
  • Will my NaturalStone™ curbing crack?

All concrete will eventually crack. To manage this, we strategically place control cuts every 8-24 inches that direct where cracks occur. These expansion joints accommodate ground movement during freeze and thaw cycles, while the installed reinforcement cable maintains your curbing's structural integrity.
  • How long does the curbing take to dry?

Your NaturalStone™ curbing will be dry to the touch within 4-6 hours after installation. During the first 24-48 hours, the curbing is most susceptible to damage from children, pets, and irrigation systems. Please keep your sprinkler system turned off until we return to apply the sealer, and prevent children and pets from walking on the curbing.
  • Do you seal the NaturalStone™ curbing the same day you install it?

We don't seal on installation day. Your NaturalStone™ curbing needs adequate time to cure properly, so we'll return within 7-14 days to apply our proprietary sealer.
  • Are you a franchise?

We're not a franchise. MasterStone Hardscapes is a locally owned and operated family business based in Weldon Spring, MO, and we're proud to serve our community and neighbors throughout St. Charles County.
  • Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we provide a warranty on our work. Any member of our team will be glad to discuss the details with you.
  • Can natural stone edging be used for flower bed edging?

Natural stone edging works beautifully for flower beds, providing an elegant, natural appearance. It also serves the practical function of keeping soil and mulch contained within your flower beds.
